PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING DEADLINES:

APRIL 1, 2025: Schools should notify the YCMC of their intention to participate in the Yale Book Award program using this form.

APRIL 30, 2025: Participating schools should inform the YCMC of their selected junior and the date of the award ceremony. This information is needed for the bookplate inscription.

The principal or vice principal of each participating high school is invited to designate one junior who exemplifies outstanding personal character and intellectual promise as an outstanding scholar-citizen who applies their values, knowledge, skills, and practices into action, leading their school community toward a more just society. Actions to demonstrate characteristics of a citizen-scholar include such endeavors as poetry, writing, art, drama, science, invention, entrepreneurship, advocacy, music, and more.

The Yale Club of Monterey County will present each awardee a book, such as the Yale Book of Quotations. Each book will include a Yale bookplate inscribed with the student’s name, date of the award, the Yale Club of Monterey County, and the name of the book sponsor.
