YCMC Events

The YCMC invites high schools within Monterey County to participate in this year’s Yale Book Award program, The award is part of the YCMC commitment to recognizing academic and personal excellence at the end of a student’s junior year. This is the second year that the YCMC is presenting the Yale Book Award. An announcement has been sent to both private and public schools in Monterey County.

Every February, Yale alumni from around the world come together in small gatherings and large groups. This year, the Yale Club of Monterey County gathered on February 14th in Pacific Grove.

The Yale Club of Monterey County co-sponsored The Whiffenpoofs performance at St. Dunstan’s Episcopal Church in January, 2025. Check back later for information regarding 2026 performances.

Alums and current students joined together to welcome the Class of 2028 on July 13th in Carmel Valley.

Interviewing with local Yale alumni offers the Yale applicant a way of getting to know a personal side of Yale without having to travel across the country.

Each year, the Yale Club of Monterey County gets together for a brunch and viewing of the Harvard-Yale football game. in 2024, alums and parents gathered in Monterey to witness Yale defeat Harvard 34-29.

The Yale Day of Service is held every year on the second Saturday in May with the goal that Yale alumni around the world will come together on or around that day to serve their local communities.

For several years, YCMC has collected new and used books in English and Spanish for 0 to 5 year-olds to donate to the local Read To Me Project, which was created by the parents of a Yale alum.
